The symposium we organized in memory of Imam Shamil, the legendary religious and military leader of the Caucasus, who, despite the 1.5 centuries that have passed since his death, is the subject of new research every day, new things are constantly being discovered about him and is beginning to be better understood, will bring the world to the world this year. Despite the devastating Covid 19 pandemic, no obstacle prevented us from organizing this symposium.
 Although we could not bring together our audience and academics and writers from many different nationalities, who contributed to the symposium with their papers, in the same physical space, we were happy to see that the same warmth and interest remained even in the online environment, thanks to the blessings of technology. In the valuable declarations presented by our participants of Tatar, Avar, Kumuk, Karachay, Chechen, Adyghe and Abaza origin, we once again saw that Imam Shamil was a leader who influenced the milestones not only in his lifetime and in the Caucasus, but also in the periods after him, and whose influence spread throughout the Islamic geography. We realized it with more satisfaction.
 On this occasion, we once again commemorate with mercy and gratitude this important personality, who became known to all Caucasian peoples, and we leave our valuable readers with the texts of the papers presented at the symposium.
