An almost identical part of the life of the Nart Wezırmes character in the Circassian Nart Mythology is told in the Indian Epic Ramayana. What is even more interesting than this one-to-one parallelism is that this thematic overlap has never been noticed by mythology experts until today. In this study, we focused on the thematic similarities of the two texts. Ramayana is an important text of the Vishnu religion. After all, Vishnu is a god belonging to the natives of the Indian subcontinent and a god acquired by the Indians later. The epic hero Rama is an avatar of the god Vishnu, while his wife Sita is known as an avatar of the goddess Lakshmi, wife of Vishnu. While Indians accept the Ramayana epic as a national Indian epic, there are also different theses on the subject. Some sources claim that the original of this epic belongs to the Harappan civilization and that the legends conveyed by Harappan scholars to the Indian Valmiki were later translated into Sanskrit. Dravidian tribes, especially the Tamil people, are shown as the natural heirs of the Harappan civilization.
